THeory about INdian Caste System and Human Nature

Everyone knows that Hinduism involves a caste that distinguishes social classes that are indicated by birth. However, I believe that this was not always the case. In the early days, when Hinduism was being formed, the caste system was not meant to be by birth but by a persons ability. A person who was smarter would go to a higher caste while the stupid people would end up in a lower caste.

This all changed as a result of Human Nature, which is to survive and to ensure that your offspring has a greater opportunity for success. When the high caste parents saw their children being demoted to a lower caste, the argued a lot and probably convinced the Hindus to allow their children to remain in the High Caste. After a while the higher castes became overcrowded as a result of the people currently there and also from people moving up. Finally, it was decided that the caste system would be by birth and not by merit.

Also, the idea of reincarnation was developed so the lower caste members would not riot and give them some hope of improving their own life. Slowly the religion was taken completely away from its intention of providing a good life path for people and became obsessed with Gods and Rituals.
